What is going on is against the universal human values

Dmitry Fedorenko, foreman of the technological complex of the surface mining sector, refused to support the regime which compromised itself and joined the strike. He has been working at the JSC "Belaruskali" since 2001.

The telegram channel "OJSC BELARUSKALI strike committee“ has 

 published Dmitry Fedorenko's appeal to the Belarusians:

- Dear colleagues, fellow countrymen, honest citizens of the "country for life"!..

Every day I observe and state with regret:

- unprecedented facts of violation of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus;

- outrageous cruelty and abuse of power of the so-called law enforcement officers;

- facts of unscrupulous falsifications, inhuman reprisals and trials of free citizens of the Republic of Belarus;

- mockery and abuse of human rights and freedoms in our country.

I consider the phrase "... sometimes the rule of law is of no importance" as cynical and disregarding not only towards the legal basis and the Constitution, but also towards the legitimate expression of the will of the people of Belarus.

I have a wonderful wife and a little son. Like everyone else, I was afraid and hesitating to lose a well-paid job at Belaruskali. But the time passes, and the situation only becomes worse. I cannot stand by as a passive observer and a victim any longer. Everything what is going on is incompatible with my concepts of human conscience, honor and dignity, it is against the  universal human and democratic values.

Congratulations to all of you with the coming spring. Nature awakens and the protest awakens together with it. Long live Belarus!
