ONE OF THE WOMEN'S PRISON CELL AT OKRESTINA WENT ON HUNGER STRIKE. OR HOW LUKASHENKO DOES NOT FIGHT WITH WOMEN

Ten women in a double prison cell at Okrestina went on hunger strike in the evening of November 3.

The unbearable conditions of detention forced them to take this extreme step. The “political” prisoners were not allowed to receive care packages since one year already. They have not been taken to showers or for a walk, the cells are overcrowded, prisoners with parasites accommodated in the same cell, they don´t receive the necessary medicines, no medical care, including in connection with COVID-19. Very often prisoners were infected on purpose with Covid.

According to the information of the human rights center “Viasna”, all the outer clothing that they could use as mattresses was taken from the prisoners  with the onset of cold weather. When the prisoners asked for toilet paper, the employees of the detention center suggested to use their T-shirts instead.

All this seems so humiliating, mean, vile to normal people. But there are practically no normal people left in Lukashenka's system. We have started already to explore how Lukashenka was eliminating honest and decent people for years, and surrounded himself with people like him, without ethics and conscience, carrying out any of his orders.

We recall Lukashenka's cynical statement that he "does not fight with women." Inhuman conditions in prisons, humiliation, hundreds of beaten, detained, including pregnant women, vile attempts to emphasize their superiority and humiliate those who are subordinate - all this fits very well into Lukashenka's concept of nobility.

As Nyaklyaev put it: “Nobody has ever fought with women in Belarus like that!”
