PRE-STRIKE STATE ANNOUNCED IN BELARUS

“Workers make the foundation of the Belarusian state. We make up the majority of the population and pay the taxes in the budget.

If we do not work, if we do not pay taxes, the system will stop working, as it will lose a source of funding.

We have defended our rights for a year already. We´ve issued ultimatums, went on peaceful protests, held pickets and hunger strikes. But even after that, we were ignored. It's time to take the next step. This is no longer just a fight for votes. This is a struggle for our rights, for the return of the proud title of "worker", for the release of our friends and the loved ones from prisons.

We, the Belarusian Workers' Association, announce the beginning of the pre-strike state and put forward our own demands to the authorities. If they are not completed as soon as possible, we will stay at home and not go to work.

We urge all citizens of Belarus to support our initiative. Establish a pre-strike state at your working place“.
